A successful day for HFH

The folks at Habitat for Humanity had to postpone their first fundraising car wash for a week due to rain but HFH volunteer Ellen Faulkner says it was well worth the wait.

The event spearheaded by HFH volunteers Rosemary Elson and Ellen Faulkner and held at the MacEwen Gas Bar, featured nothing but sun and a great team of volunteers.

“We think there was only one time where we had maybe 5 minutes of no cars,” says Faulkner.

“Most of the time we were washing 2 (cars) and had a lineup of 4 (cars). We had a lot of fun and made $752 plus $3.15 in Canadian Tire money for Habitat!”

“We were very happy with the whole day. Again thank you to the volunteers without them it would not have been a success, and another thank you to the community who came out and supported the car wash fundraiser.”

Faulkner also says the community can watch the progress of the first build by checking out www.habitatnorthbay.com.
