Area volunteers will be hosting silent demonstrations at various locations in the city today to launch an awareness campaign to end domestic violence in the community.
The volunteers are currently at the overpass connecting Lakeshore and Main Streets but you won’t hear them cheering for your support as they will maintain silence throughout the demonstration. The demonstrators will be on the overpass until 9am then move on to Main Street from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm and finishing the day at Cassells and Victoria Streets from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.
The silence will be broken on Friday, November 16, 2007.
