A Night of Recognition at the NorthBay General Hospital AGM

The North Bay General Hospital Board of Directors conducted a ‘night of recognition’ at their annual general meeting on Thursday, June 29, 2006.

Held at the Canadore Room at Canadore College, the evening began with Board Chair, Barry Bertrand presenting the North Bay General Hospital Staff Recognition Awards to this year’s winners. The hospital’s annual staff recognition awards program is based on the hospital’s mission and values and is designed to receive nominations throughout the year from staff, physicians and volunteers. A committee of peers then selects a group award winner and an individual winner from the nominations.

The Working Together Team Award was presented to the Renal Care Team. Team members, Molly Cleator and Elizabeth Grainger, along with Sue Lebeau, Program Manager were on hand to accept this honour. The Commitment to Caring Individual Award was presented to Diagnostic Imaging Clerk, Mary Edmunds.

As well, the Board presented Service Recognition Awards to Barry Bertrand and Paul Bryne. Barry Bertrand has been a trustee on the Board for over eight years, serving in various positions, most notably Chair and Co-Vice Chair. Mr. Bertrand has been one of the driving forces behind the development of the new North Bay Regional Health Centre project. Barry will remain on the Board in the position of Past Chair. Also receiving a recognition award was Paul Byrne, who has been a trustee for two terms. He served as Chair of the Public Relations Committee.

The Board was also delighted to extend their appreciation to Nabil Kassis, General Manager, Clarion Resort Pinewood Park and Kay White, Marketing Director for their kind sponsorship of the Hospital’s and Foundation’s annual report to be published in the North Bay Nugget on July 19, 2006.
