A 76 year old man faces sexual assault charges.

He approached a child unknown to him, sexually assaulted her and then asked her to touch him.

A 76 year old North Bay man faces faces charges for sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching after a report Saturday afternoon, that a sexual assault had occurred in a Lakeshore Drive thrift store.

Police say at approximately 1:45 p.m., a man was in a thrift store on Lakeshore Drive, when he approached a child unknown to him, sexually assaulted her and then asked her to touch him.

A family member overheard the conversation and was able to stop him from further abuse.

The man immediately fled the store and drove away.

North Bay Police arrested Maurice Lefebvre, age 76 at his North Bay home and charged him with:

  • one count of invitation to sexual touching; and
  • one count of sexual interference.

Lefebvre was held in custody for bail.
