79 year old charged with drug trafficking

The West Parry Sound OPP have arrested and charged a 79-year-old man with drug-related offences.

On November 30 around 11 a.m., police were tipped off about a possible drug transaction on James Street in Parry Sound.

Officers seized approximately $1,500 of Hydromorphone, Clonazepam, and Oxycodone and over $3,500 in cash.

Lawrence Hillier of Parry Sound was arrested and charged with:

  • Two counts of trafficking in a schedule 1 substance - opioid
  • Traffick in a schedule 4 substance
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Hillier was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 4, 2024.
