Some motorists trying to beat a red light on the North Bay bypass got a nasty surprise this week.
Numerous traffic charges and warnings were laid after a "red-light initiative."
Between June 2 and 5, North Bay OPP participated in a "focused patrol" of the bypass with the focus on red light violations. As a result, 32 red light offence notices were issued.
In total there were 70 traffic-related offences and some of those charges included driving with no licence, and expired plates.
Police say the traffic initiative will continue for an undetermined amount of time.
