22-year-old man falls to his death at the Talon Chutes

RUTHERGLEN – Mattawa OPP and the North Bay OPP Crime Unit are currently investigating the death of a 22 year old male at the Talon Chutes, Calvin Township early Monday morning (24th of May, 2010).

Joshua DUPUIS age 22 years old of Kearney, Ontario was camping with friends on the Mattawa River near the Talon Chutes Dam located east of Rutherglen, Ontario. In the early morning hours DUPUIS fell off the cliff from the north side of the Mattawa River just east of the Talon Chutes Dam. DUPUIS was declared deceased at the scene.

A post mortem examination will be conducted in North Bay on Tuesday the 25th of May, 2010.

The Calvin Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted Police at the Scene. The investigation was further supported by the OPP Forensic Identification Unit and OPP Marine Unit.
