Some members of the 22 Wing were honoured recently at a Honours and Awards Ceremony at CFB North Bay.

Among the award recipients was a stellar group of five members including: Captain Dylan Grimm, 51 Aerospace Control & Warning (Operational Training) Squadron, Warrant Officer Tim Gillespie, Operations Support Squadron (OSS), Sergeant Danette Weyh, 21 Aerospace Control & Warning Squadron, Corporal Joshua Berkelmans, OSS and Mr. Wade Pye, OSS.

Those members received the Canadian NORAD Region Award for outstanding accomplishments in support of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) missions.

“One of the most important aspects within any organization is to ensure that members are recognized for the exceptional work that they do. The Canadian Armed Forces is no exception," said Colonel Mark Lachapelle, 22 Wing and Canadian Air Defence Sector Commander in a release.

"The Honours and Awards and Medals programs ensure this recognition happens at all levels: at home wings/units, regionally and nationally. As the 22 Wing Commander, I am incredibly proud of all members of 22 Wing, and nothing gives me more pleasure than to nominate deserving members and seeing them honoured. To the five members who were recently recognized by the Canadian NORAD Region Commander, Major-General Pelletier, represent excellence in support of the NORAD mission. I say job very well done!"
