Noon update - Highway 17 closed due to weather conditions

(Sudbury, Ont) - Ontario Provincial Police have closed Highway 17 from Highway 6 at Espanola to Blind River.

Reduced visibility and poor road conditions have forced MTO to take their plows off of the road.

As a result, OPP have closed Highway 17 until conditions improve.

OPP remind motorists to call MTO for information about road conditions.

An update to the conditions will be made when available.

11:25 a.m. - Highway 17 traffic moving slowly

(Blind River, Ont) - Ontario Provincial Police wish to advise all motorists traveling in the Blind River area that traffic is moving slowly.

Officers are currently at the scene of a tractor-trailer that is jack-knifed near Lauzon Creek.
