11,910 cars checked during Festive R.I.D.E.

The Festive R.I.D.E. program concluded just after midnight for the North Bay OPP Cluster (North Bay, Mattawa and Powassan Detachments). This does not mean that the OPP will not be conducting R.I.D.E. throughout the year; expect that police will be out their at any time to reduce a tragedy on our highways due to use of alcohol behind the wheel.

This important program commenced on November 29th, 2006 and ran until the early morning hours of January 2nd, 2007.

Number of persons charged with
impaired over .08 or refusal: 2/to date 14

12 hour suspension: 1/to date 10

90 day ADLS: 2/to date 14

Total Number of Motor Vehicle Collisions: 10/to date 83

Total Collisions Involving Alcohol 1/to date 3

Total Number of Fatal Motor Vehicle Collisions: 1/to date 2

Total Number of People Killed: 1/to date 2

Total Number of People Injured: 2/to date 22
