$100,000 theft

On Tuesday September 6 at approximately 9 a.m. the Almaguin Highlands OPP investigated a break, enter and theft to the graphite mine located on Forestry Tower Road in Kearney. 

The value of the stolen items is estimated at approximately $100,000.

Investigation showed that sometime between Friday September 2, and Tuesday September 6, someone entered the property and stole the following items:

• white 2015 Ford F250 Super duty pickup truck.  
• Vertical industrial drill press 
• Two metal cutting band saws, horizontal 
• chainsaw
• Gas powered quick cut saw 
• 9 by 5 fuel cans 
• Gas and diesel fuel
• 10,000 watt Powermate portable generator 
• 3500 watt Honda generator 
• Mig welder 
• Pipe threader/cutter 
• 8 Motorola walkie talkies and charging stations 
• Two three quarter drive torch wrenches 
• Two one half inch impact guns 
• Three quarter impact gun 
• One inch impact gun 
• Three quarter inch drive torque multiplier wrench 
• Four new slings 
• used cable slings and clevises 
• Five gallon hot water heater 
• One industrial vertical air compressor 
• Magnetic drill press 
• Cutting torch set and carrier 
• Electric metal shears 
• Two rolls of new wire 
• hand tools and socket sets 
• Maintenance supplies, drills, bulbs, safety supplies 
• Hundreds of feet of electrical cable 

Police are continuing to investigate and any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
