OVER $30,000.00 WORTH OF COCAINE AND ECSTACY SEIZED – ONE TORONTO AND TWO NORTH BAY RESIDENTS CHARGED WITH SEVERAL OFFENCES AFTER DRUG SEARCH.


On Thursday June 29th, 2006, members of Project “Northern Gateway “ (a joint investigation between members of the Ontario Provincial Police and North Bay Police service) conducted an investigation, which resulted in a search warrant being executed at a First Avenue residence, in the city of North Bay. In the early afternoon ( approximately 2:15PM) officers entered the home on the authority of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant. OPP and North Bay officers entered without incident and seized of a quantity of powder Cocaine and Ecstacy. Three (3) persons were arrested at the scene and all of the individuals have been charged with a number of drug related offences. The potential street value of the seized drugs is estimated at over $30,000.00.

CHARGED:
TWO YOUNG OFFENDERS AND AN ADULT FEMALE WERE CHARGED WITH THE FOLLOWING OFFENCES:

1. Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Sec 5(2) CDSA.( 2 counts)(Cocaine)(Ecstacy)
2. Possession of a Controlled Substance, Sec 4(1) CDSA. (1 count)(Marihuana).
