Northern Ontario Angels has announced the Cancer Research Breakthrough Forum, in partnership with the Cancer Solutions team at Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI) and the Northern Cancer Foundation.

Set to take place at the Hilton Garden Inn Sudbury on February 9th, this forum has been curated to captivate medical professionals and potential investors with a keen interest in cutting-edge medtech from Northern Ontario.

Ian Lane, Executive Director for Northern Ontario Angels says, “The Cancer Research Breakthrough Forum is a unique blending of visionary minds, facilitated by the strategic partnership between Northern Ontario Angels, the Northern Cancer Foundation and the strategic Cancer Solutions research leads at HSNRI. This event is a gateway to transformative investment opportunities in the ever-evolving landscape of medical technology."

To commence the evening, we are honored to have Opening Remarks from Mayor Paul Lefebvre and Viviane Lapointe, MP for Sudbury, setting the stage for a gathering that blends innovation, investment, and visionary leadership to support the City of Greater Sudbury’s Innovation Blueprint.

Experience a captivating evening showcasing trailblazing innovations within the medical field at the upcoming forum. Dr. Sujeenthar (Suji) Tharmalingam of NOSM University will present the Innovation Showcase, unveiling a cutting-edge prototype that will shape the future of anti-fungal detection for oral cancer. Additionally, Radialis Inc's CEO, Michael Waterston, will introduce the revolutionary PET Imager, with ten times the precision than conventional PET scanners. This breakthrough was invented in Thunder Bay where the devices are now being produced and promises a paradigm shift in diagnostics imaging.

Join us for the Investor Fireside Chat with WaiveTheWait, featuring Tabassum Pasha, Chief Operating Officer, as she discusses their Automated Task Manager and Smart Waiting Room. This tool seamlessly integrates into Electronic Medical Records, driven by Natural Language Processing, to autonomously handle patient outreach tasks, paving the way for unmatched efficiency within medical clinics.

"Collaboration is essential in the pursuit of groundbreaking solutions for cancer,” says Dr. Deborah Saunders, Medical Director & Co-Lead Cancer Solutions at Health Sciences North Research Institute. “The Cancer Research Breakthrough Forum provides a space for brilliant minds to come together, fostering critical dialogue and key stakeholder partnerships that have the potential to redefine the landscape of medical technology, not just in Northern Ontario, but beyond."

This event isn't just a gathering; it's a journey into the future of medical technology and innovation, anchored by Northern-based innovators. For medical professionals and investors with a stake in groundbreaking med-tech, the Cancer Research Breakthrough Forum is where investments meet vision, and startups meet success.
