Letter: What is wrong with the weather forecasting in North Bay?

'I hope no one lost their life last night in that horrendous windstorm that just about took our outdoor tents away'

Thunderstorms swept through the area yesterday causing wind damage.

To the editor:

One day we get several alerts of storms with high winds and apocalyptic hail stones possible. However, the next day is a beautiful mildly warm day with a few puffy clouds and relatively calm waters.

I hope no one lost their life last night in that horrendous windstorm that just about took our outdoor tents away. If it were not for a few good citizens and a couple of out-of-town visitors standing in the rain holding down the tents, we would have lost them all.

Not one weather alert, not a single mention of damaging winds nor so much rain the sewers were bubbling.

Good thing North Bay does not have many planes anymore or a disaster may have happened.

Did the government slash the budget for weather forecasting and reporting? No, we are just having to get used to high government and social department waste.
