Letter to the editor: Gross animal wasting by hunters needs to stop

'So far on Sand Dam Road, the MNRF is aware of four moose found that were shot and left to rot'

I am an avid outdoorsman and love to fish and hunt any chance I get.

I moose hunt in area 41 which is the area surrounding North Bay

I am writing to express my frustration with the night hunting and gross animal wasting that goes on every season but nobody ever addresses it.

So far on Sand Dam Road, the MNRF is aware of four moose found that were shot and left to rot.

One was shot right on the road and left right there. It wasn't shot elsewhere as the bullet casing was found right on the road.

I'm certain more will be shot and left.

How safe is night hunting anyhow, in an area surrounded by camps and hunters. It goes against everything we've ever been taught about gun safety not to mention senselessly killing animals and not following up on your shot.

I'm just incredibly frustrated that this goes on and absolutely nothing is ever done about it.

This letter may fall on deaf ears but hopefully, it doesn't.

Why cant something be done about it.

Just my 2 cents
