Letter: Remembrance: It's What You Need To Do?

'Nations mean nothing to this brave bunch, nor race or creed, for ultimately, they fought for each other, and then for you and me.'

From every corner of the globe and back,
these are the soldiers we forever respect.
We know not them all, nor their service given
but to each of us, these were our protecting angels.

Farmers, skyscraper builders, and garbage men too.
Every chance they had they soldiered on for you.
Giving it all for people they knew not.
Sacrificing their very limbs at times, but never a complaint is heard.

Nations mean nothing to this brave bunch, nor race or creed,
for ultimately, they fought for each other, and then for you and me.
The military took them to places most despised,
and only a few stood up and ultimately survived.

Vimy, the Italian campaign, the Korean Peninsula too,
the deserts of the Middle Kingdoms and Afghanistan as well.
On the seas, in canals and on land they fought.
Their blood washed over the evil that others brought.

Soldiers are just people, no matter their tribe,
remembering them all is truly divine.
Walk the cemetery row and see who has fallen,
immortalize their souls, and bring forth their true command,
to fight and protect your peace and freedom in this land.
