God : The supreme and ultimate reality. A being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness. A divine principal (with Many Names) that created us, and rules the universe.
Easter, Pass Over, Ramadan and so many other Religious Observances are celebrated during this time of year, offering many of us some time to stand away from our daily lives to centre upon what's important to us and realize we are living the" gift of life ", unknowingly.
Whatever you may think "God" is, whether a Great Spirit with male or female gender, an eternal spark of energy, our importance within this universe is tied to our relationship with God who we all call upon eventually. Whether you believe in a God, put your trust in humanity's goodness, or both, this time to celebrate is divine in itself.
Sitting down with your friends, and family and enjoying some J while celebrating life and all it has to offer our families, community, and ourselves too. "To life, to life, L'Chaim". Realize that "God", that spark of life that happened so long ago is responsible for beginning all that is good in this world, while we are responsible for most things that are not so good. Sure there are natural disasters that are not in our control, but what about the world's inability to deal with global poverty, hunger, enslavement, thirst for dictators, and authoritarianism?
Is God an absent master, or has the responsibility to change our lot fallen unto You and Me? Praying is good for the soul, and your emotional state, but it won't heal a loved one, pay the bills or get you the newest phone.
Easter symbolizes life's victory over death, Jesus raised to show us there is more to life than living it and then passing it onto heaven or hell. Raising from death, Jesus shows us that we can manage, transform and transcend this earthly plane. We can make life better here on this planet, making this world and this life a Heaven while defeating the evils of this earth (Hell). If God was one of us, God would enjoy some J too, while chumming with us in conversation and joy. What else do we have to live for folks?
Enjoy life, make your situation better, and as Saint Francis said so long ago to his many followers...if you cannot enter the world with cheerfulness and joy, stay in your homes until you can. Life is a celebration with a multitude of expressions. Jesus was Man, so if Jesus was God, we too can take the responsibility of God upon ourselves.
This celebratory Season create, protect and make way for life. Creation is better than destruction. Creation is what we are all called to do in our lives.
Creation is Live. Enjoy it with a little J in a glass.
