To the editor:
To the people who criticize the staff at the city hall of any city or town, they do not "run the show."
Most have been there many years and have knowledge that they can share but do not make the final decision.
Members of council come and go and many got in by popularity without understanding many of the issues they have to deal with. The decisions they make should be with as much information as possible.
They should also be listening to the people who elected them, especially when it comes to spending millions of dollars without re-examining the priority of where the money can be best spent and for the benefit of the majority of the taxpayers.
You don't go out and buy a new car when the one you have is fine, and groceries and rent or mortgage payments are there. It's called living within your means.
