To the editor:

I am originally from North Bay and continue keeping up with news by reading Bay Today.

I live in Kelowna B.C., and the one thing I enjoy living here is how Kelowna and area is making use of the lake, forest,  and other beautiful landscape it has.

I know this area is rich with money but also has homelessness, violence,  drugs etc.

North Bay with all the beauty it has available is not taking advantage.

Too bad the city council worries more about this ice rink fiasco when there is more urgent matters as you know; homelessness,  mental health which is a result I believe from demolishing the psychiatric hospital and evicting everyone who desperately needed this help but was ignored. Hence what you see today.

Should the city council's priority not be to the All the residents living in North Bay first and not economic benefits for shops, hotels, restaurants etc

Anyways I was reading about the waste of money spent on that ramp. Guess people with disabilities and seniors were not part of the survey as they would have told you it is a waste of money.

Here they have built a cobblestone ramp from the walkway to the water.  At the water, there is a ramp and landing a wheelchair can access to enjoy the water.

It is used by seniors,  wheelchair, dogs when sand is hot.

It is there all year round to be walked on.
