The cost on the health system is enormous and the cost of human suffering on families is much worse

See: Beer and wine coming to a corner store near you

And: Last call for The Beer Store?

To the editor:

I believe getting beer should be made harder not easier.

The emphasis on the health reasons for banning cigarettes and tobacco is just as valid for the sales of alcohol. The only difference is that governments make more money if people buy more alcohol.

The cost on the health system is enormous and the cost of human suffering on families is much worse.

How many accidents would be prevented without alcohol being involved? How many families would be a bit safer without alcohol-fueled abuse?

I would like to see alcohol being much harder to acquire not made easier.
