To the editor:

MEMO TO THE CITY OF NORTH BAY. one of the major issues of the election campaign was to bring back the warming centre,

A young man died the other day on the streets during the first cold snap of the year. I'm sure there were other factors, but being exposed to the cold did not help.

How many more will die this year?

The city is facing a lot of important issues but there is none as urgent as this. It cant be put on the back burner.

Editors note: BayToday contacted City police to inquire about the death, but a spokesman says there is no record of police being called to the scene. That doesn't mean the death didn't occur, just that the police were not called to investigate.
