Mary E. Spear (nee. Culham) was born 1/24/1928 to Wilbert and Hilda Culham in Nipissing Township. Mary passed away peacefully at her home in Florida on 12/12/2020. Her remains will be interred next to her husband of 50 years Charles E Spear on 7/11/2022 at11am in Nipissing Cemetery, Nipissing, Ontario. Her eldest son, Victor A. Spear recently passed away on 2/8/2022 he is survived by his wife Leslie, from North Carolina. Mary is survived by her siblings, Yvonne Stillar, Dougal Culham and James (BettyAnn) Culham. Her children, Cindy (David) Hinton, Miami, FL, Cathy (Rick) Haynes, Jacksonville, NC and Joseph Spear, Jacksonville, NC. Mary was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, but the one thing she loved the most was being a Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Mary had 5 Grandchildren- Bill Haynes, Tara Spear, Ashlee (Kenny) Kelso, Richard (Sydney) Haynes and Edward Hinton, and 13 great grandchildren. Dear to her were her special friends that were like part of the family:  Joanne Yasuk and Sharon Henson Weiler. Mary loved to polka dance in her younger years. She met her future husband, Charles from Ohio while working at Sunset Cove Inn. They married in June of 1948 in Powassan and then moved to Ohio, which Charles continued his military service until he retired in Miami, FL in 1968. They stayed in Miami to raise their family where he continued working for the Naval Civil Service until 1992. Mary worked in the school system as a substitute in the attendance office for many decades. She is forever remembered as helping others first, even with her own health battles. She has been greatly missed by family and friends and forever in our hearts.
