The Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts

The Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts is a registered charitable organization.

The Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin was established in 1983 and was incorporated in June 1985 as a charitable non-profit voluntary health agency. In 2014, the Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin amalgamated with the local chapter in North Bay becoming Alzheimer Society Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts.

Our mission is to alleviate the personal and social consequences of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and to improve the quality of life of persons living with dementia, their care partners, and families. We provide essential programs and support services such as Education, Health Promotion, Recreation Therapy, Health Bistro Adult Day Program and Support Groups to help keep clients in their own home for as long as possible, delaying admittance into a Long-Term Care Home.

Although we receive some government support for our programs and services; donations, fundraising, planned giving and special events are an integral part in helping us fulfill our mandate in the community.
