This week Second Saturday Stories features a sample from The Old West. Those waiting for more from last edition's story, The Wraith, can rest assured that it will continue in later editions.

Roy Figgis is a bad man. He was born into a gang and knows he'll likely be carried to his grave by six of them. Roy's lived in chaos his whole life and watched fate pluck friends from the land of the living. Roy is not afraid of death, because Roy knows he has luck on his side. A small charm he's had since childhood dangles from the handle of his gun and like a talisman it shields him from getting a gut full of lead.

Roy and the rest of the Flint Rock Boys descend on a cabin where there is supposedly a tip on the biggest score the gang has ever seen. Roy's job is simple, distract any guards long enough for the gang to get away with the loot. It seems simple enough but can Roy trust the rest of the gang he grew up with?

When a mysterious stranger crosses paths with Roy his loyalty and his resolve will be tested. Stranded and outgunned Roy's life will depend on how well he can play cards, and how long his luck can hold out.
