Yesterday’s first day of school and the North Bay Police Service’s first day of their school bus initiative resulted in the following charges:

Failing to Stop for a school bus---1 charge
Speeding in a school zone---2 charges
Warnings for speeding in a school zone---5

Out of Country Officers on Course

The North Bay Police Service is presently hosting a 2 week Sexual Assault Course being given by the Ontario Police College.

Various officers from different municipalities are attending.

Two of those officers are from Bermuda and are willing to speak to members of the media should the occasion arise.

Peeping Tom

The North Bay Police Service has recently received several calls about a man looking through residential windows at night.

A suspect’s name came up during the investigation and Cst. Al Bedard and Gerry Martin conducted surveillance on an individual on the evening of the 5th of Sept.

A man has been charged as a result of this investigation.

Randy TURCOTTE 36 years old, of Ferguson St. is charged with Trespass by Night and Breach of Probation. He remains in custody for a bail hearing.

Attempted Break & Enter

On the 6th of Sept. shortly after 3 AM, officers of the North Bay Police Service responded to an alarm in the 1400 block of Pinegrove Rd. Here they saw that a door was ajar and that it appeared that someone had attempted to break in. Nothing appeared to have been taken.
