theft, trespassing, possession

The following is a news release from the North Bay Police Service:

On Oct. 2, 2017 at approximately 11 p.m., a man returning home from walking his dog discovered a male rummaging through the family vehicle on Tackaberry Drive. He physically removed the male and held him until police arrived.

The male was arrested for theft and trespass by night, searched incident to arrest revealed several break and enter tools inside his backpack. He provided police with false name.

As a result, 27-year-old Correy Whitton of North Bay is charged with:

  • theft under $5,000.00,
  • trespass at night,
  • possession of break in instruments and
  • obstruct a peace officer

Whitton was held for a bail hearing.
