ASSAULT POLICE
At 3:23 pm November 8th a man stepped in front of a northbound police car on the Main St overpass. Once the cruiser stopped the man held up his fists, and started kicking and punching the driver’s door preventing the officer from getting out.
A plain clothes officer attended causing the man to move from the door. The officer was able to exit the vehicle and was subsequently attacked. Pepper spray was deployed and the officers were able to tackle the subject to the ground where he continued fighting until he was finally handcuffed.
Patrick Martin 29yrs of Commercial St is charged with mischief, assault police, resist arrest, and breach of probation. He was held in custody for a bail hearing. Cst Geoff whittle is investigating.
