Between the dates of March 11 and 17, 2018 a female has approached members of the public, on Main Street as well as the North Gate Shopping Center, asking for help to cash cheques

The following is a news release from North Bay Police:

Fraudulent cheques

Between the dates of March 11 and 17, 2018 a female with the description of being approximately 5’6” tall, thin build, blonde hair, blue eyes has approached members of the public, on Main Street as well as the North Gate Shopping Center, asking for help to cash cheques, stating she is new to North Bay and has lost her wallet. Cheques have been deposited and money given to the female. The cheques are fraudulent.

There have been numerous similar occurrences in the area over the last few weeks.

The public is asked to contact the police if approached by this female.

Break and enters

Sometime overnight on March 19, 2018, unknown person forced entry into a restaurant in the 1100 block of O’Brien Street and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

On March 21, 2018 at approximately 4 a.m., the glass front door to a business at 300 Lakeshore Drive was broken and entry gained however nothing reported missing at this time.
