MISCHIEF TO CITY PARK
Sometime between Aug 19th and Aug 21st 25 trees at Belleview Park on McGibbon St were damaged. The trees were snapped in half and some had the bark peeled. Ten trees were 3 yrs old and the other 50 had been planted this past spring. The costs to the city to plant are approximately $5,000. Cst Gerry Martin is investigating.

BREAK AND ENTER
Between 11:55 pm on the 21st and 1:00 am on the 22nd Aug a residence was entered on Second Ave E. Money liquor and car keys were taken. The keys were then used to steal the vehicle parked outside. An hour later the vehicle was abandoned on Fifth Av near Fraser St. two males were observed to run from the vehicle towards Cassells St. They are described as early 20’s, light coloured shirts, blue jeans, and baseball caps. Cst’s Penny Kerr and Christen Elia are investigating.

BREAK AND ENTER ARREST
At 1:55 am on 22 Aug a man on Seventh Ave was awake feeding his baby when he heard someone coming up stairs inside his house. He confronted a man at the top off the stairs causing the intruder to flee. An immediate search of the area by police located the intruder hiding in a neighbour’s vehicle parked across the street. Michael Wheesk 20 yrs of No Fixed address has been charged with break and enter with intent and 2 counts of breach of probation. Csts Christen Elia and Blake Vietmeier are investigating.

FRAUDULENT USE OF CREDIT CARD
In late July a Gold Ovation MasterCard was reported stolen to West Nipissing Police. Between the end of July and August 14th the credit card was used for more than 30 transactions in the City of North Bay. Investigation revealed that a man and a woman had made the purchases for groceries, cash advances, taxi fares, and restaurant bills. Amy Marleau 27yrs of Sturgeon Falls was arrested at 8:06 pm 21st Aug. She has been charged with possession of a stolen credit card, 2 counts of use stolen credit card and 2 counts of fraud under $5000. Tyler Moring 19 yrs was arrested at 9:22pm on 21st Aug and charged with 3 counts of use stolen credit card and 3 counts of fraud under $5000. Both persons were held in custody for bail hearings.
