Police seek public’s assistance in identifying suspect and/or minivan

On Wednesday, August 20 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a man, unknown to the victim, used a nearby ladder to climb up to the second story window of the victim’s McLean Road residence.

The victim heard a loud noise as he was climbing and confronted him immediately. The man reacted by climbing down, fleeing through the bush to a parked vehicle and driving away.

North Bay Police are looking to identify the male suspect described as 40 to 50 years of age with a slim build and reddish blonde hair and a scruffy face. He wore glasses and a blue and grey plaid coat, dark shorts and tan work boots. He drove away in a navy blue minivan with the words “Cash 4” (and other words unknown) written in green lettering on the side.

Police are looking for unidentified person who is throwing rocks at city buses

On Tuesday, August 19 at approximately 10:15 p.m., an unidentified person threw a rock at a city bus travelling east on Marshall Avenue East, between Marshall Park and Summit Drives. The rock cracked the bus driver’s sliding window, but there were no injuries as a result of the incident. Neither the driver nor the passengers on board were able to identify the suspect(s) as the thrown rock came from a bush area on the north side of Marshall Avenue East.

Police have been informed that this is the second time this has occurred to a city bus in the same location at the same time of the evening in the past two days.
