On Sept. 19 a woman began an argument with a man known to her and punched him several times. She had just gotten out of jail for having assaulted him previously. The next day on Sept. 20 she began another argument with him and ended up taking a knife and slashing him across the chest. He received minor injuries. Constables Ken Rice and Dave Wilson of the North Bay Police Service were called and arrested the woman.

Joanne MONTGOMERY, 43, of McKeown Avenue, is charged with assault with a weapon, assault, and two counts of breach of probation. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.

ONE CAUGHT FOR BREAK AND ENTER


On July 20 during the early morning hours three people were seen running from a break and enter at Blockbuster Video on Shirreff Avenue.

On Sept. 29 Cst. Mark Ethier of the North Bay Police Service effected an arrest in relation to this B & E. Some of the property was recovered.

A 16-year-old male is charged with break and enter and theft and is to appear in court Nov. 3.

BREAK AND ENTERS
On Sept. 20 thieves broke into a residence on Corbett Crescent and stole some jewellery, a DVD player and a VCR.

On Sept. 18 between 5 & 8 PM an apartment in the 300 block of Main Street E was forcibly entered. Once inside the thieves stole a Sanyo DVD player, numerous DVDs, a maroon Gibson acoustic guitar, a Playstation electronic game, a phone and answering machine, a Rolex watch and various CDs as well as Oakley sunglasses.

VEHICLE STRIKES YOUTH
On Sept. 20 at 11:45 AM a male youth was riding his bicycle in the 700 block of Rose Avenue towards Chippewa Secondary School when a vehicle turned from Douglas Street onto Rose and struck the rear wheel of the bike. The youth fell to the ground and received minor scrapes.

The vehicle then drove away without stopping.

The vehicle is described as a green Pontiac Sunfire, has the letter “K” within the licence plate and had a dream catcher hanging from the rear view mirror.

The driver is described as male, white, in his 20s with facial hair and wore glasses.
