BREAK AND ENTERS During daylight hours on the 30th of Oct. thieves forced their way into a residence in the 500 block of Whitson Av. Entry was gained by prying the porch door and then the inner door of the home.

During daylight hours on the 30th of Oct. thieves forced their way into a residence in the 500 block of Whitson Av. Entry was gained by prying the porch door and then the inner door of the home.

Once inside they stole a single DVD player.


On the 30th of Oct. between the hours of 1:20 PM and 3:15 PM thieves pried open a basement window to a home in the 900 block of Metcalfe Av. Once inside they stole a Panasonic stereo with speakers and some Canadian Tire money.

Overnight on the 29th of Oct. a thief threw a cinder block through a window of Circle Roots Supply on Morris St. He then stole a 6 pack of Coors Light beer.

OVERNIGHT PARKING IN NORTH BAY

The North Bay Police Service would like to remind the general public regarding the overnight parking ban that comes into effect on the 1st of Nov.

Vehicles are prohibited from parking between the hours of 3 AM and 6 AM on any city street.

This ban continues until the 31st of March and both dates are inclusive.

The fine for this parking offence is $30.

CONFERENCE TAKING PLACE

The North Bay Police Service as a partner with the Military Police and the Domestic Violence Coordinating Committee of Nipissing is proud to be sponsoring a 1-day conference at Canadian Forces Base on the 1st of Nov. on the subject of “Impact on Children of Violence”.

Although this conference is closed to the general public, there will be 2 sessions for 350 professionals in the domestic violence field. Donations to the North Bay Food Bank are being accepted as an entry fee.

Dr. Diane Benoit a staff psychiatrist in the Infant Psychiatry Program at the hospital for Sick Children in Toronto will be the guest speaker.
