Stolen firearm, recovered property, road rage

The followiing are news releases issued by the North Bay Police Service:

Shortly after 11 a.m. on Oct. 23 2017, two males had a confrontation on Main Street near Ferguson Street at which time one of them, Bryce Ivans, pulled out a replica hand gun and pointed it at the other male.

North Bay Police officers attended the scene and arrested and charged:

Bryce Ivans, 34 years of age of North Bay:

  • Weapons dangerous
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Carry a concealed weapon

Overnight on Oct. 23 2017, a Remington .308 rifle with two loaded magazines in a gun case was taken from a vehicle on Johnston Road, North Bay. Also taken was a wallet and hunting gear in a Bass Pro duffle bag.

On Oct. 21 2017 shortly before 6 p.m., a vehicle was speeding and tailgating another vehicle. The two drivers stopped on Memorial Drive and a confrontation ensued. The tailgating driver removed a 4’ to 5’ long “Samurai sword” from the back of the vehicle and threatened to slice the other male.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 20 to 30 years old, 5’9” to 5’10 tall, slim build, short brown hair with a goatee, and wore a black jacket with black Adidas style leg stipes and black shoes. The vehicle was a blue Toyota Yaris hatchback with plain black rims without hubcaps.

The North Bay Police have recovered stolen property believed to have been taken between the Oct. 19 and 21, 2017. Anyone missing yard ornaments or decorations specifically from the West Ferris area are asked to contact Constable Field at the North Bay Police Service.
