WEEKEND The North Bay Police responded to 221 calls for service over the weekend that resulted in 21 arrests for a variety of offences.

The North Bay Police responded to 221 calls for service over the weekend that resulted in 21 arrests for a variety of offences. They included Assaults, Domestic Assaults, and Assaults with a Weapon, Threatening, Breaches of Court Orders and Intoxication.

PARKING RAGE
On 5th Mar at 2:40PM a man who was assisting a person to move had parked his vehicle blocking a driveway on 4th Ave W. It is alleged that a woman became enraged when she arrived wanting to visit the person whose driveway was blocked.

She subsequently slapped the man in the face, and then punched him in the mouth. He started to call the police and stood in front of her vehicle so she couldn’t leave. It is alleged that she kept bumping him with the vehicle so he sat on the hood. She accelerated down the road swerving side to side which threw him off. April Thomas, 48yrs, of 2nd Ave was arrested and charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. She is to appear in court on 19Apr 2011.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
On March 5 at 12:00 noon, it is alleged that a man entered a premises on Fisher St where he threatened to kill one of the workers. He was carrying a baseball bat and raised it above his head in a menacing manner causing the worker to flee the building. Upon arrival of Police the suspect had also fled.

On March 6 at 5:00 AM, it is alleged that two women got into an argument at a house party on the 200 block Princess St E. The argument escalated when one of the women punched the other in the side of the head while holding a glass. She punched her again in the shoulder and when the glass broke she stabbed her in the neck with the broken glass causing a small puncture wound. The suspect then fled the premises.
