Callander skateboard park open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Municipality of Callander has opened its skateboard park for the summer. Located at the Recreation Centre on Swale Street, the park is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the summer months.

The Municipality has erected a sign to inform the public of these opening hours. Use of the park after hours is forbidden.

The North Bay Police reminds members of the public that anyone using the skateboard park after hours is considered to be trespassing on municipal property. North Bay Police can charge those found to be committing the offence under the Trespass to Property Act.

Missing prescription medications

On Thursday June 5 at approximately 6 p.m., North Bay Police responded to a call from a male resident of an apartment in the 1100 block of Ferguson Street. The resident alleges that a person unknown to him entered his unit to steal a variety of prescription medications while he was asleep overnight between Wednesday June 4th and Thursday June 5th. Following an investigation, North Bay Police report that there were no signs of forced entry and nobody was hurt.

Anyone with information about this incident, is asked to contact the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477). Constable Warner is investigating.

The North Bay Police Service would like to alert the public that using prescription medications or a combination thereof without a prescription can be fatal.

The Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) prohibits anyone from possessing prescribed medication without a prescription and that it is a criminal offence to offer or sell a prescribed medication to another person. Purchasing another person’s prescribed drugs is also illegal.
