4 IMPAIRED DRIVERS BEFORE MIDNIGHT On the 1st of July during the evening hours, officers of the North Bay Police Service arrested 4 impaired drivers within North Bay and Callander. The times were between 7 PM and 11:45 PM.

On the 1st of July during the evening hours, officers of the North Bay Police Service arrested 4 impaired drivers within North Bay and Callander. The times were between 7 PM and 11:45 PM.


RIGHT PLACE RIGHT TIME


On the 1st of July Cst. Bill Gainforth and Dave Wilson of the North Bay Police Service were patrolling in the Main St. area of the city and observed a suspicious looking male. At approximately the same time, a clerk from Mac’s Mart on Main St. E. began flagging the officers as a radio call also came in, advising of a robbery that had just taken place at this Mike’s Mart.

The officers arrested the male without incident and he was transferred to the Police station.

Jonathan Daniel DUFAURE 33 years old of Hutchison Av. is charged with Robbery, Disguise With Intent, Weapons Dangerous, and Breach of Probation. He remains in custody for a bail hearing.


UNPROVOKED ASSAULT


On the 1st of July shortly before 3:30 AM a 19-year-old male was riding his bike along with friends on Tachaberry Dr.

They were approached by a vehicle and the male passenger began running after him until he caught up and proceeded to strike the victim about the head.

The victim suffered lacerations under his eye and attended the North Bay General Hospital where he received several stitches to close the wound.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black or green Honda Civic 2 door type of vehicle.

The suspect himself is described as male white, 20 to 23 years old, 5’7, thin build with short black/brown hair with a white jersey with possibly the number 67’s on it. It is also believed that his first name was “Luke”.


SUSPICIOUS PERSON


On the 1st of July during the afternoon hours the North Bay Police Service received information about a suspicious male in the Rock St. playground. (off of Copeland St. area)

The information is that a white male in his 30s was attempting to arrange play days with some children.

A further description is that this male had blond shaggy hair and was wearing a grey button down shirt with khaki pants.

Caregivers should remind young children not to talk to strangers without the caregiver being present and to report any similar above activity to them.


ATTEMPT BREAK & ENTER

Would be thieves attempt unsuccessfully to forcibly enter a home on McGibbon St. via a small front window on the 30th of June. A plastic latch had been pried but entry was not gained.


POLICE BOARD MEETING


Today the 4th of July, the North Bay Police board will be holding their regular monthly meeting at 11 AM within the North Bay Police Service building on Princess St. W.
