OFFICER BITTEN On Dec. 8 shortly after 2 a.m. officers of the North Bay Police Service attended a call regarding the eviction of a female from a local motel. The woman was screaming continually both inside and outside the room.

On Dec. 8 shortly after 2 a.m. officers of the North Bay Police Service attended a call regarding the eviction of a female from a local motel.

The woman was screaming continually both inside and outside the room. She was brought to the hospital for examination and she continued screaming.

Once examined, she was then brought to the police station where she bit the hand of one of the officers, who then required medical attention.


STRUCK WITH A CHAIR
On the Dec. 8 at approximately 3:30 a.m. two women got into a verbal argument in a local home.
One of the women eventually threw a chair at the other, knocking her down. The victim then returned to her own home and called the North Bay Police Service.

Cst. Dave Wilson and Ray Yelle attended the original home and arrested the assailant.
Gail Wilkins, 39, of Martin St. is charged with assault with a weapon and is to attend court on Jan. 20, 04. No medical attention was required.


TWO CHARGED IN PURSE THEFTS
On Dec. 7 shortly before 3 p.m. a woman who had been grocery shopping at a local store had her wallet removed from her purse by two other women.

The victim then pursued the woman with the wallet and confronted her and managed to retrieve her wallet. The victim was then assaulted by the thief.
No medical attention was required. As a result of this disturbance a man within the store held the other thief until Cst. Roger Drolet and Fernando Cirullo of the North Bay Police Service attended and effected the arrest.
Melissa Meisenheimer, 21,of Trout Lake Road, is charged with two counts of theft under (in relation to other similar thefts) and robbery with a weapon. She was kept in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

The next day the same officers arrested the second woman in relation to this incident.

Tina Ashford, 30, of no fixed address is charged with two counts of theft under (in relation to similar thefts) and robbery. She also was held for a bail hearing. The investigation is ongoing as police believe that other
victims have yet to come forward.
