BANK ROBBERY This morning (8th of Aug.) shortly before 10 AM a lone male entered the Scotiabank on Main St. W. in North Bay and tendered a note. This note indicated that the man was armed and that he was demanding money.

This morning (8th of Aug.) shortly before 10 AM a lone male entered the Scotiabank on Main St. W. in North Bay and tendered a note. This note indicated that the man was armed and that he was demanding money.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash he immediately left the scene.

He is described as male white, in his 40s, 5’6 to 5’7, medium build with short dark hair and clean-shaven. He was wearing a grey t-shirt with a design across the front, faded blue jeans, sunglasses, and a ball cap.

BOAT THEFT

Overnight on Friday the 4th of Aug., thieves stole an 18’ boat and trailer from the rear of a multi unit residence on Judge Av.

The boat is described as an 18’ Four Winns Horizon bow rider with a 4.3 L Volvo engine. It is beige and white in colour with a beige canvas top.

The trailer is described as single axle, beige in colour with white wheel rims. The Ont. marker is Z91214. The value is the above is approximately $28,000.


THEFT OF OUTBOARD MOTOR

Overnight on the 3rd of Aug. thieves stole an outboard motor from a boat that was parked in a driveway of a home in the 900 block of Premier Rd.

The motor was a black 30 HP Johnson motor with the owner’s name etched in the unit.


BREAK AND ENTERS

During the Aug. long weekend thieves broke into 5 sheds that were at the back of the Early Years Learning Centre, Adult Support Centre and Ecole Heritage in the 100 block of Chippewa St. W.

It is unknown what if anything if missing at this time.

The sheds had all been forced open at the doors


Overnight on the 4th of Aug. thieves forced their way into a home in the 800 block of Worthington St. E. Once inside they stole morphine, a Kenwood stereo, cash, groceries and a chopper bicycle.


BREAK & ENTER YOUTH ARREST

On the 2nd of Aug. Cst. Mark McLeod of the North Bay Police Service arrested a 12-year-old female in relation to a break and enter into a residence on Wasi Rd. There was also mail that had been stolen.

The youth was referred to the Youth Section of the North Bay Police Service for processing.


BUSY LONG WEEKEND

During the past long weekend, officers of the North Bay Police Service were kept busy with the following incidents of arrest:

Intoxicated in a Public Place---17

Assaults---8

Impaired Drivers---4


STOLEN VEHICLE ARREST

On the 4th of Aug. during the late morning hours, Acting Sgt. Asselin and Cst. Dix of the North Bay Police Service had occasion to stop a stolen vehicle. They arrested the driver without incident.

William LAWRENCE 25 years old of Mountain St. in Haliburton is charged with Possession of Stolen Property and Drive While Disqualified.

He was kept in custody awaiting a bail hearing.


POSSESSION OF BREAK & ENTER TOOLS

On the 8th of Aug. shortly before 3 AM, Cst. Bruce Whitehead and Daniel Shepstone of the North Bay Police Service had occasion to investigate an incident of property damage. Once the investigation was concluded the officers had found that a variety of charges were in order.

Ronald KNOX 20 years old of Algonquin Av. is charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Theft, Mischief, Possession of Break and Enter Instruments, and 2 counts of Breach of Probation. He was kept in custody for a bail hearing.
