The North Bay Police request the public’s assistance in a break and enter which took place at a business on Cassells Street this morning.

On Thursday, September 18 at approximately 6:13 a.m., police were contacted regarding a break-in at a retail business on the 1100 block of Cassells Street. The glass to the building’s front door was damaged and the victim reported that cash was taken.

B&E at downtown coffee shop this morning

A 38-year-old Toronto man faces charges this morning following a break-in at a downtown coffee shop.

At approximately 4:50 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, a witness informed North Bay Police that a man broke a window and entered a coffee shop on Fraser Street. The suspect then fled the scene on a bicycle.

Shortly thereafter, North Bay Police located the male suspect on Worthington Street West and arrested him for break and enter. He was then searched and found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash.

As a result of the investigation, North Bay Police arrested and charged Richard Layton with break and enter and commit and also executed a federal parole warrant for his arrest. He is being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing this morning.
