TRAFFIC ALERT

The North Bay Police Service has been receiving numerous complaints of vehicles disobeying newly placed stop signs at the following locations:

Jane St. and Clarence St.

John St. and 1st Av.

These stop signs are part of a four way stop intersection that is presently required due to construction events that will be taking place throughout the summer months.

The motoring public is reminded to be vigilant of stop sign requirements to stop and proceed only if the way is clear. When both vehicles arrive together at a 4 way stop, the vehicle on the right has the right of way.

Convictions for failing to obey this section of the Highway Traffic Act. is a loss of 3 demerit points and a fine of $110.

SEXUAL INTERFERENCE

On the 30th of May Det. Cst. Jody Dehass of the investigative section in the North Bay Police Service arrested a man in relation to alleged complaints of having sexually touched several young girls from Jan. to April of 2007.

The investigation culminated with the officer laying charges.

Gary HUGGETT 48 years old of Cassells St. is charged with 3 counts of Sexual Interference and 1 count of Exposure to person under age of 14 years.

He is to appear in court on the 24th of July of this year.
