Frauds over $5000
A six month fraud investigation by the North Bay Police Fraud Unit has resulted in the Mar 27th arrest of David Houle 62 yrs of Durrill St. He has been charged with 3 counts of fraud over $5000, 3 counts of theft over $5000 and falsifying books. The charges stem from a period between Jan 2006 and Aug 2009 when he was the treasurer of two separate organizations. The Rapport Choir of North Bay is missing over $11,000 and the North Bay Minor Girls Softball Association is missing over $76,000. He is to appear in court on 14 May 2013. Weapons Offences
At 11:00 am 27 Mar a man forcibly entered a motel unit on McIntyre St E and assaulted the occupant. The victim grabbed a butcher knife and chased the assailant out of the building, then further chased him around the parking lot brandishing the knife. A third male grabbed a baseball bat and also chased the first man around the parking lot swinging the bat. All three men were arrested and charged. Dwayne Heintz 46 yrs of no fixed address was charged with forcible entry, and assault cause bodily harm. He was held in custody for a bail hearing. Dustin Tourville 25yrs of McIntyre St E and Jordan VanMeirlo 27yrs of Ryan Ave have each been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace. They are to appear in court on May 14th 2013. Cst Aaron Northrup is investigating.

Fatal Vehicle/Pedestrian Collision
At 3:04 pm on the 27th Mar, a man driving a silver Subaru Impreza northbound on Wyld St struck a woman that was walking northbound on the west side of Wyld St near Victoria St. The vehicle continued north on Wyld St without stopping. The victim, Claudette Benoit age 53, succumbed to her injuries. The North Bay Police Forensic Identification Unit and the Ontario Provincial Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit attended the scene to assist in the investigation. The involved vehicle was located by police at 3:56 pm abandoned in a parking lot at 1500 Fisher St. Several locations in the city were searched before the investigation led to a Clarence St address where Ehren Schneider 31 yrs was arrested at 9:22 pm. He has been charged with criminal negligence causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, fail to stop at the scene of a collision causing death, and drive while under suspension. He is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
