Two men face charges following Street Crime Unit investigation

Shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit observed a suspected drug transaction take place between a man in a parked vehicle on Delaware Avenue and a male pedestrian who had entered the vehicle.

When the pedestrian, a 26-year-old North Bay man, existed the vehicle, he resisted a police attempt to arrest him by running away. Following a short foot pursuit, police arrested, searched and charged him with:
One count of resist peace officer;
One count of possession of marijuana;
One count of possession of morphine; and
One count of fail to comply with a probation order.

The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for April 7, 2015.

While the above arrest was taking place, North Bay Police also conducted a traffic stop and arrested, searched and charged Raymond Lincoln, age 45, of Sudbury, with:
One count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; and
One count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Lincoln was held in custody overnight pending a bail hearing today.

As a result of this investigation, North Bay Police seized:
$200 in Canadian currency;
19.1 grams of suspected cocaine with an estimated value of $1,800;
40 mgs of suspected morphine; and
4.4 grams of suspected marijuana.
