On the 13th of July it is alleged that an argument took place within a North Bay home between two men. This argument escalated to the point where one of the men took a baseball bat and struck the other man several times in the torso and arm area.

The victim managed to flee and attend the hospital where he received surgery for his wounds.

Several days later the victim reported this incident to Cst. Chris Marshall of the North Bay Police and a warrant was requested for the attacker.

On the 18th of July the male attacker was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police from the Almaguin Detachment and was transported to North Bay officers.

Kenneth REID 31 years old of No Fixed Address is charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault With a Weapon and remains in custody for a bail hearing.

DISTURBED YOUTH

On the 18th of July while Csts. Steve Taylor and Steve Sproule of the North Bay Police were attempting to apprehend a 17 year male youth, one of the officers was struck and the youth then attempted to flee once more.

The officers apprehended him again and brought him to Headquarters.

He is charged with Assault Police Officer, Escape Lawful Custody and Breach of Probation. He was kept in custody.

STOLEN VEHICLE

Overnight on the 17th of July a 1997 blue Chev. Cavalier was stolen from the downtown area. The Ont. licence plate is ANSN 019.
