SUSPICIOUS PERSON At 3:15 PM on Jan 5th a young female reported that while she walked home from school in Callander, a man in a beige 4 door mid size car drove up beside her and asked if she wanted a ride.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
At 3:15 PM on Jan 5th a young female reported that while she walked home from school in Callander, a man in a beige 4 door mid size car drove up beside her and asked if she wanted a ride. She ran and he watched her for a couple of minutes then drove off. He is described as: 30-35 yrs, heavy build with dark complexion, dark beard and moustache. He was wearing a black leather jacket ,blue jeans, sunglasses and a black toque with “tap out” in white on it. Mark McLeod is investigating.

BREAK AND ENTER
Between 7PM on the 4th Jan, and 6AM 5th Jan, entry was gained to a Galt St residence. A small safe containing an undisclosed quantity of money was taken. Cst Bruce Whitehead is investigating.

DISTURBANCE
On the 5th Jan at 9:30AM North Bay Police responded to a disturbance at a Lakeshore Dr business resulting in the arrest of a 58 yr old man. It iss alleged the man had gone to the cashier and requested that money be prepaid to him from a prepaid credit card. When advised that this cannot be done he became irate and started swearing. When told to leave he smashed a bag of chips, kicked the automatic door making it inoperable, grabbed a snow scraper and was leaving with it. The cashier confronted him and was punched in the face. Another customer restrained the man and calmed him down until police arrived. Donald Gelinas of No Fixed Address has been charged with Mischief, Attempt Theft and Assault. He was held in custody for a bail hearing. Cst Aaron Northrup is investigating.
