Police seize loaded handgun, Fentanyl in North Bay man's arrest

A North Bay man is facing a slew of charges following his arrest on Oct. 5, according to the North Bay Police Service.

As part of an investigation, members of the NBPS Street Crime Unit arrested the accused at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, in the area of King Street West, North Bay.

The North Bay Police Service has charged Francis James Mammolite, 22, with weapon and drug trafficking offences:

  • Three counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Two counts of Carrying concealed weapon
  • One count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • One count of Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • One count of Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon at Unauthorized Place
  • One count of Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • One count of Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo
  • One count of Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

NBPS says its searches resulted in the seizure of:

  • Approximately 18 grams of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately 5 grams of suspected purple Fentanyl
  • Approximately 25 suspected Percocet pills
  • A loaded handgun
  • A prohibited edged weapon
  • Drug trafficking equipment
  • A quantity of Canadian currency

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $4,300.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
