On January 29 shortly before 5:30 p.m., Nipissing West OPP stopped a motor vehicle for speeding on Highway 69, in Greater Sudbury.
The vehicle was travelling at a speed greater than 135 kilometres and hour in a posted 100 km/h zone and had unauthorized plates.
As a result of the investigation, two people were arrested. A search of the vehicle located a hand gun, cellular phones and drugs suspected to be cocaine.
Kennedie-Rayne ALLEN, 22 years-of-age from Oshawa, was charged with:
- Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit
- Use plate not authorized for vehicle
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
Terrell CAIN, 25 years-of-age from Chatham, was charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking
Both accused were held for Bail Court and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 30, 2024, in Sudbury.
