Police arrest and charge man after responding to a disturbance

On May 10, shortly after 12:30 p.m., members of the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a disturbance on Coursol Road, West Nipissing.

Police attended the scene and located a person who had an outstanding warrant, for a breach of a Probation Order. The individual was arrested and had resisted the officer during the arrest.

A search of the individual located drugs suspected to be methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation: Steven Joyce, 35 years of age, from West Nipissing was charged with, obstructing a Peace Officer, trafficking in Schedule I substance and two counts of failure to comply with a Probation Order.

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 13 in North Bay.
