Police Kept Busy With Assaults

Further to report of Attempt Murder reported Sunday Sept 23, 2007,at Cassells Street & North Bay by-pass area;
Police had located a 55-year-old male suffering from knife wounds to his neck at approximately 9:17 pm on Sept 23 behind a local grocery Store on Cassells Street. The victim underwent emergency surgery and is presently in the Intensive care unit of North Bay General Hospital. North Bay Police Personnel along with the assistance of the OPP canine unit located 56-year-old male suspect in relation to this incident Ronald Ayotte, of no fixed address is in custody charged with Attempt Murder and is being held for a bail hearing today. D/Cst. Helen Kent of the North Bay Police Investigative Support Services is continuing her investigation into this incident.

On Friday Sept 21, 2007 at approximately 9:30 am, Cst. Parker & Ayres responded to a neighbour dispute at a residence on O’Brien Street in North Bay. The complainant reported that his neighbour held a knife while making threats of death to him following a dispute.. A suspect known to the victim was arrested a short time later. Alexander Duda, age 51, is charged with Threatening Death, Cary a Prohibited Weapon and Assault with a weapon and was held for a bail hearing Monday.
