A North Bay man is accused of drug trafficking following an investigation conducted by the North Bay Police Service’s street crime unit last week.

At approximately 7:26 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014, police stopped a vehicle in the area of the bypass and Seymour Street and arrested the driver, a man known to police, for trafficking Fentanyl patches.

Following the arrest, police conducted a search of the vehicle and subsequently located and seized 59 Fentanyl patches with a street value of $23,200 and 30 grams of marijuana valued at $450.

As a result of the investigation, David Santos, age 35, of North Bay, was charged for trafficking Fentanyl patches, possessing marijuana, and breaching a conditional sentence order. He was held in custody for a bail hearing on Friday, September 12.

Weekend Occurrences

Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 220 calls for service that resulted in 16 arrests. Offences included public intoxication; theft under $5000; utter threats; assault with a weapon; mischief under $5000; assault; warrants and breaches.

Public’s assistance sought in locating a stolen boat

North Bay Police request the public’s assistance in locating a boat that was reported stolen over the weekend.

On Sunday afternoon, a complainant called police to report that a fishing boat had been stolen from its cradle on Pinecreek Crescent in Callander sometime between 3 p.m. on Friday, September 12 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 14.

The boat is described as a black and cream 2009 19-foot Crestliner Raptor with two motors: a black 2009 Mercury Verado 175 hp and a black 2009 Mercury Kicker 9.9 hp.
