CLOSE TO MILLION DOLLAR FRAUD
An investigation commenced by the North Bay Police Service during the summer of 2003 has culminated in an arrest by Det. Cst. Paul Brewer of the Criminal Investigation Section.

The arrest took place Oct. 23 at the North Police station. It is alleged that a fraud took place between 2000 and
2002 with monies being transferred from a company account to a private account.
The amount of loss is over $945,000. and the victim is Comsatec, an energy brokerage company out of Callander.
Raymond Drouin 41, of Fifth Avenue E. in North Bay is charged with fraud over $5000. He remained in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing today.

FURTHER ROBBERY CHARGES
Cst. Jeff Warner of the North Bay Police Service has recently charged two other males in relation to the drug robbery our service reported occurred Oct. 19.
The two 16-year-old males have each been charged with robbery, and one of them has also been charged with breach of probation. They are both to appear in court on Dec. 17.

ASSAULT
On Oct. 25 during the evening hours, constables Chris Johnson and Joe Whitehead of the North Bay Police Service attended a residence within the city and arrested a male for assault. This male had allegedly assaulted an
adult woman and a younger woman within the home.
When the victim called 911, the man ripped the phone off the wall.
Walter Jackson, 43, of Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, in Fort Myers,Florida, is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and mischief. He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

BREAK AND ENTERS

During daylight hours Oct. 23, thieves entered a home on K&K Drive through an unlocked front door and stole a Playstation 2.

A home under renovations in the 600 block of Ferguson St. had the front door forced open Oct. 23. Although there were tools within the residence, nothing appears to have been taken.
